Goose Hunting Videos

Goose hunting may be the best wing shooting sport for up close and personal hunting action.  Often hunted in harvested agricultural fields where they are wont to eat, given the right field, concealment, decoy spread and calling pattern you can get the birds to come right in.  Watching goose hunting videos allows for some entertaining fast action, but also a great way to learn about the sport and see how people are successful at doing it.  Notice how the decoy spread is laid out.  How do they use laydown blinds to trick the birds into coming for less than 20 yard shots?  You can learn a lot from these videos.

In this video you will see various locations of mostly geese mixed in with some ducks coming in close and personal and getting hammered.  It is great to watch as the hunters give them all the time they need to get as close as possible before jumping out of their blinds and dropping birds left and right.  Notice how they choose the farther away birds first to take and then the up close ones.  This ensures more birds to be bagged.  There are times in this video when they are dropping upwards of 10-15 geese per volley.

Here is another example of a great up close and personal goose shooting.  The birds work as if appearing to be on a string and come right into the decoys.  From there the hunters pop out of their blinds and begin dropping geese like it is their job. 

Due to their burgeoning population the USFWS has opened up a spring season on snow geese.  This can be a complete boon for the hunter willing to travel to the migration path of these birds in the spring.  With no limits or plugs required in your guns, you can really stack them up if they come in nice and close.  You will notice in this video that it is not uncommon for 1,000+ geese to come in close in one huge flock.

Some of the best goose hunting on the earth can be found north of the border in Canada. This video is a great example of a high quality hunt with up close and personal action for snow geese. Notice all the in close shots and clean kills afforded by this method.  Definitely great use of your goose hunting gear!
